My pals at Jawbone have done it again, but this time it’s not all hardware (although, as you can see they brought the future to us once again on the industrial design front). The biggest announcement is the new MyTALK feature, and it seems to be pretty bad-ass. It’s like an “App Store” for your headset. Easy access to 411, voice-to-SMS, and finally Jawbone talks back to you telling you when the battery is low, who is calling, and so on– all with pretty fun, realistic customizable voices. I actually think they might have unearthed a pretty significant new business opportunity here.

Celebrating the new jawbone next to the post about the devastation in Haiti. Now there’s quite a juxtaposition. I’ve been enamoured with this site and it’s cool finds for quite some time but these two posts have put it all in perspective; time to give up being enthralled by a device with customizable voices and pay more attention to actual voices. Why, besides the potential for profit, do toys for twenty somethings ( like the ones in the next post ) even exist? A dieu joshspearcom, for me, you are simply no longer relevant. The rest of you will see it soon enough.

Thank you for your readership and taking time to comment. My parents taught me long ago never to doubt other people’s good intentions. If there is room in the world for those who choose vodka and those who choose vitamins, then there must be room for those who choose both. While we celebrate good design, great art and new technology, we are equally saddened by those who suffer in the world, too, and we do not forget them. We will continue to bring equal attention to the very wide scope of human experience, at both extremes, and let readers make up their minds about priorities.

Thanks for taking the time to comment…

Josh

Good job not letting that guy sink your boat :) Thank you for letting your readers make up their own minds about priorities and trusting that we can do our best with it all, the light and the dark.
