By now the smoke has settled, and most gadget-afficionados have come to grips with the news that the new Treo 700w comes with Windows Mobile. Yes, Windows Mobile. I was a long time Treo user, and moved to a Blackberry 7100t for something lighter and more efficient– but my favorite part of the Palm was always how hackable the Palm OS was. I’ve never had a good experience with Windows Mobile, but I think Palm makes a nice product. What were they thinking? The verdict is still out on this one, but loading it with Windows sure didn’t tickle my fancy toward an upgrade.
