After our fascination over Air Guitar Nation and in the spirit of competition, we couldn't help but stare in amazement at the film, Unflinching Triumph –The Philip Rockhammer Story. Since it's founding in 1997 the NASP (National Association of Staredown Professionals) has strived for recognition and with the upcoming release of Rockhammer's story, hope to give nationwide exposure to the sport which requires “focus, concentration, and endurance.” The documentary immerses the audience into Philips life, from his breakout success, to his tense showdowns with Staredown legend Tony Patterson, and follows him from start to finish in his journey to become the 2005 NASP National Champion. It seems that all those hours of watching television have indeed made us Americans some of the most elite athletes in the world, “See you at the toe line!”

This is by far the best short film I have ever seen! The director offers the entire film for free at http://www.unflinchingtriumph.com. This film offers a rare inside look at the competitive sport of staredown. Two men enter a small circular arena with the hope of being crowned the staredown champion, one man a victor the other teary eyed and defeated. It could all end in the blink of an eye. This film is fun for all ages.

This is an obvious mockumentary. They should have used batter supporting actors if they wanted to fool us, though the main actor is pretty good…very deadpan.
