Connecticut artist Valerie Leonard created an American flag out of more than six thousand toy soldiers. She also does hilarious classic pet portraits. Like nothing you’ve ever seen before. Very talented and funny.

Detailed pictures of the American flag after the jump.

Remids me of War Bowl by designer Dominic Wilcox, 2002

Here is some information about War Bowl.

manufacturer:
Thorsten Van Elten, UK

materials:
plastic soldiers

notes:
Mosley and Wilcox (who formed the design company Mosley Meets Wilcox) have been collaborating since 2000 and experimenting in exuberant designs, including melting toy soldiers, ninjas and knights in their oven to see what kind of result they could achieve.

According to Wilcox: “After about a year of trawling round all these toy wholesalers in the east end, like secret Santa’s grottos, I can tell from holding a toy soldier in my hand if it’s going to melt the way we want.”
